may 15th
for those who dont know this week is National Law Enforcement Week.
I know trhere are several people on this forum who are current or retired law enforcement.
The reason im posting is there is a special ride this sat the 15th here in So Cal.
It is the 7th annual officer down ride. This ride is a yearly event. The cadets of the Escondido Police Dept pick a law enforcement officer that died in the line of duty and dedicate the ride to that individual. All money raised on that ride is then donated to his family.
This years ride is dedicated to Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas. Robert was murdered/executed ( Robert was shot 8 times-4 in the head, 3 in the body and once in the neck)in July 2009 while working in Campo, Ca. He is survived by his wife and 2 young children.
One individual (17 year old illegal) turned himself into the mexican authorities who allowed extradition once the death penalty was removed as his possible sentence.
He was sentenced last week to 40 years in prison.
Here is a web link to the information for this ride. On the web link there is also information for anyone who would like to donate money.
