Not handy, but each switch is soldered to the board at 4 points that stick out the back side of the board. They aren't very tall so you'll have to be careful but I'm a bonehead klutz and managed it even with shaky coffee hands.

You can see that 2 connection points connect to 1 visible circuit (the etched lines) and the other 2 connect to the other circuit. Just make sure you solder each wire to different circuits.

To test it, just touch the other ends of the wire together, if it opens the door you are in business.

Here's a pic before the solder to show where I soldered my wires. My door is activated by the large button, and my arrows point to that particular switch on the board.

Sorry for the graininess, but its small and you have to get yer camera close.

Got some pics? I like the idea of NOT drilling the console, and keeping things incognito. Those folks drilling the console have done some very nice work, and kept it pretty OEM looking, but I like the idea of a more stealthy approach.
Are you just dropping the controller under the seat? Or did you wire it up like the folks drilling the console? Tanks!

I just purchased one of these from home depot, about $35 and use a carabineer to hook it to my pants loop. pretty cheap mod, and you don't have to install anything to the bike....I do like your mod thou, good job!

Great mod. Think I'll just keep mine hooked on the inside of my windshield bag though.

I'm lazy like that sometimes.
