Default Saddlemen Tattoo solo pics and Sokustom bags

I replaced my stock seat with a Saddlemen Explorer a while back, but though it was super comfortable, could never get used to the huge passenger part.

Stayed with Saddlemen and the new solo is a great seat. Real leather, with gel insert. 13" wide, so has nice support with a 6 1/2" backrest. Havent added the passenger pillion yet, but it sits over the top of the solo to increase the backrest.

Nice setup IMHO. I got the silver stitched flames for no other reason than I thought they were a little different and were cool. What can you do.

Also got my bags from Shaun awhile back and never put up any pics. They're nice and heavy leather and I like the quick turn buckles.

I gave him the things I wanted and he went with it. They're not EXACTLY what I pictured in my head, but still cool enough to put on the scoot.

Downsides are the openings are a little smallish, but not that big of deal, and they took longer to get than anticipated with some communication malfunctions...

Again, no biggie and I would certainly order from him again.

Around the spade is the phrase "For all who defend it, freedom has a cost the protected will never know"

Kind of stole that from Citoriplus. Thanks mang!

Thanks Doc. Still have the info from you for when I get the drop in springs and lowering bolts. Will do the pillion with you too. Haven't got that far yet, life keeps getting in the way, lol.

The bags are from Shaun at www.sokustom.com.

He's a military dependent that does these bags (and some seats) on the side. Very nice guy and the bags are nice quality. He'll do anything you want and the prices are reasonable. Good way to have a little something that isn't off the shelf.

Only caveat is that he gets backed up easy and must get a bazzilion emails a day, so just dont be in a hurry. He told me couple weeks and it took more like 5. There's another thread right now about that, but there's also a hundred guys that have (and love) his work.

Just go in knowing that it's gonna take awhile and forget about it. You'll be happy.

I like the seat, how is seating position compared to the badlander, up or down / forward or back?

It's been a couple years since I've had the azzkilller, I mean...badlander, on my bike. It's a different feel altogether, like you're sitting in the seat more than on the seat.

If I had to guess, I would say maybe an inch down and about the same forward to back, but it's been awhile.

Cheers.
