Ive taken out sprocket and chain, all 8 bolts holding housing on, still cannot remove inner primary. Is this because the starter mount bolts are holding inner primary on? if so how can i get to the bolts with out having to take out the oil tank, if theres a way, or is that even the reason?

could use any advise... service manual not helping me here.

Starter bolts need to come out. I don't know about the oil tank but on my bagger I use a long extension with a swivel.
