Default Nylon Brake tubing??????

Yesterday saw a custom bike with nylon tubing for brake line...It looked like the tubing going into your ice maker or used in a house ro system... i spoke to the owner but he had it built and couldnt give me any details... i asked if he rode the bike much and said yes and asked how the brakes were he said all good...

So, I looked it up and found a nylon tubing DOT cert but its used for air lines however the pressure is rated at 1200.. It is tubing is made with Freelin-Wade’s Nylon 11. Type “A” Air Brake tubing is ideal for use on vehicles for instrumentation and
pneumatic accessories connected to the air brake system. Type
“A” Air Brake tubing is non-reinforced. D.O.T. A variety of colors are available. It is heat
and light stabilized.

Anyone have knowledge of this??? The reason I'm interested is because it comes in various colors and it looks kewl... But does it work long term????

Im not sure if it is the same line you are talking about but i just used a brake line that you cut to length and bolt the ends to it. It is black and looks like a wire it is so thin. Seems to work well, very flexible and it was easy to use. cost me about $60 with the ends for a brake line. I think they also make it in stainless.I went iwth the black though.

I seen this bike at a local show here in Dallas and loved the small black hose for the brake line. Here is a pick of it on a hydro Clutch. A person can have a set of clean bars with this setup.

They sell it here at Canadian Tire. Its pretty flexable, but not like rubber hose. the ends are held on via compression fittings. Iv used it on Cars, Race cars, go carts, and other various high pressure hydrolic projects. Its pretty new, like within the last 5 years or so for the main stream market.

There are a wide range of Nylon 11 and Nylon 12 tubing. Most have an operating pressure at or below 1000 psi @ 70º F

Pressures of a braking system can exceed 2000 psi. Some grades of Nylon 11 & 12 have burst pressures exceeding 3000 psi at 70º F but their operating pressures are at 1000 to 1200 psi @ 70º F

A breaking system at the caliper on a hot day can reach 500º F.

Be great for a show bike.

But you wouldn't catch me with it on my Harley. I trust my life to Braided Stainless.

I believe that small line is what came on my '09' Heritage. At least on the front. I'll have to check when I get back home. Out of town right now.
