the mileage on the metzlers are going to be less because they are softer. i used the 210/50/17 and even though it is larger it got only 4700 miles on it. i went with a dunlop road smart in 200/50/17 and got 6300 on it. the stock fatboy rear tire i got 9500.
The tire i am trying now is the tire used on the 2010 crossbones. I like it better that the stock fatboy tire. i found out most of my handling is from the kind of front tire. I have not tried the 200/50/17 as it just came out in 09. if you are looking for grip i would go with the 200/50/17 metzler and you will get better takeoff. the shorter tire did not change my fuel mileage

210- 50- 17 is the way to go..... why 200???

it is stock size jus a tad wider......it turns better too
