Just a quick up date. Having loads of snags with this kit, some down to my choice. The kit comes with ¾ axle & the wheel set I got a good deal on was for a 1” axle no problem I hear you all saying! But I couldn’t get the ¾ replacement bearings so had to have a bushing made to reduce the bearings in the wheel. Just got that all done & now the caliper, the instruction tells you to get 2000 up, don’t fit. So the swing arms got to come off yet again for the 10th time & weld a extension to the swing arm. Was told to get a 1 1/8 belt the same on the 2000 up softail’s & that’s wrong so the kit is a lot of work had loads of problems would not buy this kit out of choice, what seemed to be a great deal at the time is a lot more work & loads more hours labor. On the up the back looks great I hope after this problem I will be all done?

My opinion on wide tire kits is that u what you pay for. I much prefer heartland kits. Tried and true. Saw mike from platinum here in Vegas bikefest on Thursday.

Fed ex brought me one today. First impression is great. Put a Santee 200 kit on my bike 2 years ago, and this kit is more complete. The swingarm and struts are dead on PM copies. The only thing I would be concerned about is the primary offset kit which I am not going to use. (won't fit my 84 anyway) I don't mind a "made in Taiwan" swing arm and fender...but I ain't putting no Chinese gear and shaft in my transmission. I offset my primary and transmission and have had no problems...and it is a million times easier than tearing the trans apart. I think all the parts and spacers needed to move just the primary and leave the trans centered is asking for trouble...even if they were quality parts. Moving the trans over 1 inch just ain't going to throw the balance off on a 250 tyred bike....which is only an option on 99 down bikes. I will start a new thread when I get started on this...to let you know how this works out.
