now on to the bad crap

before this i had a lepera bare bones, im a big guy so i wanted to be as far down and back as possible, at first glance it looked high but i installed anyways to give it a shot.

the install was a bit of a pain in the ***, i had to grind and mod a couple of parts just to make it fit, the seat itself is beautiful but HD needs to get engineering back to the board for the spring kit on the LO.

i went for a ride today and i got the "elephant riding a tricycle" syndrome back, it sits too high for me and it pushed me too close to the bars...

all in all even though i love the look im pretty bummed out about this, i dont want to lose 600 bucks.

sdsds
Man that is a bitch that the seat didnt work for you, it definitly looks pretty killer on your bike... I think that is the first spring seat I have seen on the Lo.

rquirch, what kind of cover do you have on your intake filter? Really looks cool on your bike. I went the anti bling route and just installed this...

rquirch: I’m a novice and have not received my Lo yet (Dec/Jan???). But damn, that seat looks *lower* than stock and *further back* than stock. What am I missing? Is it just an optical illusion due to the smaller size of your seat?

adcuevas: I like the shorter length of your bars, but do they make them “heavier”, as in larger diameter of the bars? Also, can they rotate further back or forth to “fit” me or do they have to go in a particular setting?

Thanks.

Hey James. Yeah, with BR Customs it's exactly like their name implies. They are 100% custom. I had mine made with 9" of rise, the bottom tube is 11 1/2" so they are exactly as wide as the top of the trees, pull back is also whatever you want. Mine are 4". And you can put them at whatever angle you want. Just get them where you want then tighten down your risers. How ever you want them is how he will make them. Only downside is it is 4-6 weeks to get them made, but well worth the wait and every penny IMO.
As for the thickness, mine are 1 1/2" thick. Don't think they make them any thicker. I also had them pre-wired to save me the trouble. Lot's you can do!!
Hope this helps!

yeah i think it is lower than the stock but i had gotten used to the lepera so it felt weird... im going to try to work something out to install it, i really like the look of it.

I think if i relocate the fuelpak and fab up maybe two brackets i can get it on there.

A slick lookin bike you got there too!!! I really like all the black on the engine! Did you take all that to the powdercoater or but the black parts?

The only thing is, I am looking for some bars that are around the 14-17" range. But of course the BR Customs ones can be made to my liking
Really like the "Open Apes" they have on the site.

Pretty sad that I am looking for stuff to change on the bike when I haven't actually received it yet... But the delivery date is set for 26 Jan!! I think I am one of 3 people ever to order one in the Brilliant Silver Pearl... I must be crazy I guess I'm currently deployed, so I spend a lot of my free time (whenever I can get any and not at the gym) looking at what all of y'all have done to your bikes...

You people are going to cause me to spend A LOT of money...

Nah, I just bought all the parts already factory wrinkle blacked off ebay. The price to have mine done and the price of buying them already done wasn't that much of a difference, plus you can sell your old parts once they are changed out.

Good luck on the rest of your deployment, I've been lucky the last 3 years and not been tagged!!! Shitty times for sure!

what are you using to cover the bolt heads on your rear fender struts? I want to hide these bolts on my bike as well.

They are just plastic covers I picked up at the local HD shop that push onto the existing bolt. Then I just sprayed them satin black since they were gloss black.

Ok, after some mods to the front bracket and springs i put the seat back on.

It did push back about 2 inches but i am just not happy with the height, i think my lepera is coming back on and am going to try to sell the seat.

here's a pic.
