Hey Dave, I am ready to place my order for the street slammer bars. If I understand correctly the only cable you had to replace was the front brake cable ? What size cable did you use, and are you saying that all other internal wiring and cables had enough slack to fit ?

Did you install the bars yourself and if so was it a pain, or pretty straight forward ?

Thanks..

I went with the two piece "DiamondBlack" front brake line. Plenty of slack for everything else, and you do not need the directional relocation kit either. I did the job myself. Get the service manual and take your time. As long as you have some wrenching ability you will be fine. The worst part is taking the pins out of the electrical connectors.

Congrats on the win Dave! Greatly deserved!

Heard from the dealer today on my Lo-Wanted to know what type of forward controls to put on.

Being 5'7", would it be ok to order a "standard" set of forward controls with the street slammer bars? I've heard of "extended forward controls"-so I think those are not the ones for me.
Just need some clarification.

Thanks again in advance!

Thanks Dave, placed the order after your post. I have the service manual and do a lot of wrenching so I will try the install myself. Will post pics when installed..

I have the extended controls on mine, but I'm 6'1".

I'd probably stick with the standard forwards unless you want your legs fully extended.

I have a set of brand new standard forward brackets listed in the parts for sale forum (linky below),
PM me if you're interested (you'll have to buy the foot levers from HD since the floorboard levers won't work)

Spent last week in Ocean City for Delmarva Bike week. Added some new doodads to my Fatboy Lo. Put on Kuryakyn Iso Grips in black, Mustang solo seat with back rest and leather fender bib and some subtle pin-striping on my horn cover by Dan Kite. At the end of the week I also found a wrinkle black shifter peg. All in all a great event and some cool goodies for the bike.
