Bars arrived today from Hill Country Customs! I had them make them with a true 1.25" clamping area... I am going to get working on it today after work... Will post pics when finished!

 

If you are talking about the fender strut bolts they are Torx bit not Hex.

 

Yeah, mine were T45 torx. If you tried using a hex on them, that would explain the stripping. Easy outs should get the job done anyway, I would think.

 

The stock fender strut bolts are torx. The replacement ones that come in the detachable docking hardware kit are not. They are hex. I wish they would have been torx because I doubt I would have stripped them.

 

Happy to hear that I'm not the only one with excel spreadsheets...

 

Finally got the stupid bolts off. I spent 90.00 dollars on a couple of extractor kits, a 3/8 drill bit, and a new pair of vice grips. Ended up only using the 3/8 bit and the vise grips since I couldn't get either of the extractor kits to work. I used the 3/8 to drill the bolt out enough that I could knock off the bolt with a hammer and a screwdriver. I then took off the docking hardware which gave me about an inch of bolt to work with. I tried turning them with the vise grips but they wouldn't grip enough. I then decided to try something crazy. I drilled through the threads of the bolt with a small bit and then fit a throw away allen wrench through the hole. That gave the vise grips something to grip on to and they came out after that. Someday I'll get someone to show me how to properly use an extractor but I'm glad I managed to solve the problem. The 3/8 bit messed up the inside of the docking hardware a little bit but they still seem pretty solid. I might order a new set of hardware just to be on the safe side.

 

+1 on extending the brake pedal out. Ive been braking with my big toe basically ever since getting my kuryakyn breather. The only thing I can find is extenders that make the arm longer, nothing that makes it wider.

 

This is precisely my problem and the longer extensions and ones where you can change the angle of the lever are all I can find.

Im starting to wonder if the best option might be to buy a spacer of some kind and try to rig it on with a longer bolt. I figured somebody out there would have tried to fix this issue and may have some advice.

 

Well, I finished fabricating my mounting bracket for the swingarm bag.. now I just gotta figure out how to make a mount on the other side for my new baby..i figure the little one can just go in the swingarm bag :-D

 

How about a swiveling bar mount so you can shoot while driving at high speed from the cops lol
