Hey SGT.Jim,
How did that detachable windshield work out for you?
You mentioned that you know of Fat Boy saddlebag emblems for my Roadking bags that I'm putting on my Lo.
You wouldn't have the website for them do ya?
I haven't had a chance to go riding with it yet.. maybe this Sunday.. and I was looking around for those FatBoy script emblems that I saw only once in passing, and haven't been able to find them again..sorry man
I have done the research on the cholos. The cheapest place you can get them is phatperformanceparts.com. They are 764 shipped.
PM Dr VTwin... he just PM'd me a great price on those pipes in black...
I'll probably try to pick them up soon, even though they will then spend the next 4-5 months sitting in the garage... But then again, I may wait, because if they are damaged upon arrival, I don't think he will take them back 4-5 months after the purchase... who knows. We'll see how bad the itch gets in my back pocket to see whether I get them now or wait.
Those of you worried about the wobble, it is not the neck bearings or the steering head adjustment. It is the front tire. Unfortunately the stealer will tell you they need to do the steering head adjustment and charge you for it. I had the same problem and it was getting worse, I took it to the dealer the first time and they charged me a half hour labor to do the steering head adjustment.
I took mine in today (27 degrees, nice brisk ride ), and with 6700 miles, my front had only 2/32's left, and my back tire was toast (down to the wear-bar). Also, they found the neck out of adjustment. They were kinda surprised my tires were so bad at this mileage. Threw new rubber on, they adjusted the neck, had the clutch adjusted and new rear brake pads done as well while I had it in. Anyhow wobble is gone so I'm guessing it was a combination of things.
I heard that something about the South Dakota roads chew up tires. I wouldn't be surprised, they do a lot of that tar/chip rock covering. Makes sense.
