I was just sent a private message telling me my sled is in the OCT. issue of hot bikes magazine. I don't have the issue yet, anyone have it or seen it?

For what it's worth, I went from a Road King Classic (which I loved) back to my second Fat Boy. It's about selecting the right tool for the job.

 

Still lovin my Lo as well, but gotta ask, what drove you back to the Lo? The RK is a killer bike.

Hey Jim.. whatever happened to stretching your rear fender? what's going on with that?

 

I have it cut and sectioned, but since I work out of my garage (not dining room haha) it's just been to hot to be welding and grinding , so I put the fender mod off until this winter. I'm guessing I'll have it on by Dec/Jan, I'll post pics then.

I've been working on my other bike instead, thanks for your help on that by the way!

here's where I'm at now.

The fender is not sitting true as shown, but the dove tail will be pulled out about an 1 1/2" and I'll weld some pie shape pieces in at the bottom to achieve that.


I will also fill in the tail light hole at the bottom

 

well it's not like I have air conditioning in my 160 year old house, but i dont have the texan heat either. Instead we have 11 inches of rain in the past 2 days, new record for us, and everything is flooding.

So how did you pull that off so far? Did you buy 2 used fenders and just chop them up and sew them together?

I thought about raking out my front end 3* or 4*, but I don't have the coin for the gas pump right now, let alone ripping things apart again

 

Yep, that's exactly what I did. I was patient and I got one of them for about $100 delivered off of ebay and the other for about the same from a fellow forum member. They had slight damage like some dings and stuff, but I can fix that.

Rain, what's that? We have been in a drought since at least Jan. I think we are at 2"'s for the year.
