Yeah, the pegs are folding. The guy that makes the arms is out of business I think.

Any insight on the 1st service guys?

My dealer gave me the 1st service for free in the form of a gift certificate but I already spent it on parts....

Should I do it myself?

How hard is it?

How much should it cost?

This is close http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/539...e-Arm-Mark-III

They also make a Mark IV model. Too expensive IMHO. Mine were $80.

I wouldn't do 1K service myself but I am doing 5k this weekend. I took mine to a small shop outside San Antonio and the guy was a certified HD mechanic and it was only $120. Thru HD its like $350.

I'm having mine done right now, 1k and 5k were included in my deal.. the prices the dealer had listed on the wall was $358.95 + Labor for the 1k, and $385.95 + Labor for the 5k services.. to me, that's ridiculous..but since they're both included, i'll bite.

i dont even know what's included in it, but aside from adding grease into the neck of the trees, i could probably do it all at home

The 1k service is really not that difficult, especially if you have the service manual for the bike. I did mine and I do most of the services on my buddy's bikes as well.
