I tried using my heel shifter, but I had the same problem with my jeans getting hung on it.

I ended up going to forward controls, so that decision was pretty simple!

Also, my thanks to all of those who are in the FBL family that serve....."I am always humbled in the presence of warriors.".
Dave is actually the godfather of this post, as he started it and not me. But I am the one who named him the godfather! haha

Welcome to the LO family! Glad your on board Mug, We will help any way we can.

If any of the Lo owners are looking for the e\windshield designed by HD for our bikes, I have one for sale in the softail section. Brand new, only used on one ride. I decided I need bags more. Check it out. Thanks.

I always us my heal shifter because I hate the marks the front shifter leaves on my shoes. I positioned the front and heal shifters downward as low as I could and I've never had a problem catching my pants. My front shifter is so low I can't even slide my foot under it and only use it for downshifting.

MeanMug, yeah i think you just got a bad one.. if you still have the packaging just double check the part number, and if it's right, take it back and tell them it doesn't fit and it's defective.. they should give you a new one

that would have been a good idea... oh well, I love my forwards now. I did keep my floorboards, in case I ever decide to go back.

Jim....my bad...Dave is the man....after thousands of posts it gets kinda fuzzy...

Anyway, I returned the one with the brow and got this one 69626-99. While I was at the dealership I asked the guys to talk to the techs and make sure I wasn't overlooking anything.

They showed me four Softtails with similar trim rings and all of them moved. One about the same and the rest only slightly less but all moved noticeably. None were tight like the stock trim ring is on mine.

I brought the 69626-99 home and installed it and.......(drum roll).........it does the exact same thing. Well, it actually moves more side the side than front to back (like the video) but it is clearly not snug.

What seems to keep the stock ring tight is the small rubber nubs at about 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock on the nacelle that fit into the notches in the stock ring. Once in the notches, you have to turn it to line up the screw tabs.

Either way, I am not gonna keep this. It just isn't right. Think I am going to get the freight train nacelle if they ever do it in black, and if it is made to fit the black LED headlight. The way I read the catalog, the black LED won't fit that nacelle today.

My wife rides with me often without any issue with this bag. She has a 6 1/2 shoe, but I suspect it won't be an issue.
