Calling all FatBoy Lo Owners

[QUOTE=DrWalkinboner;8266637]Got my horizontal mount. What do you guys like better, nurse or cheerleader? Whoops wrong forum, I meant vertical or horizontal lol.
Vertical all the way! I put a horizontal side mount on mine because I don't want to get messed with by the cops, but I think the vertical looks a lot better.
I know a guy who got ticketed for an improperly displayed tag.

I got the nut off and pulled the console off but not sure how to get all the parts underneath off like the odometer button and gauges.

I think that's the signature, most important piece of a Blackened Lo... if you want the Lo to look as Black as a NightTrain, that's the part you nail or make plans to nail.. the Rocker Boxes.

I'll take a look at mine tonight and see if I can help ya out...although I have a 2011 and the wiring is different, but the mechanics are the same.

Even the open primary I'm looking at for this winters mod will have some brushed aluminium contrast. I'm a black bike guy all the way, but if it's not done in style with lines and flow, you can lose the appeal very easily. JMHO
Also, I don't want my LO to look like the NightTrain either, but I do like that model. Also when I won Best Of Show, the brushed aluminium rocker boxes was one of the stand out praises that my sled got. Just sayin be careful not to go to far, that's all.

Well I respectfully disagree. I think it has to be done with some polished aluminium contrast of some sort. I am only speaking from the point of view of showing the LO, but even if your not, we all want the best look.

+1 One of the reasons I bought the Lo was the Satin Chrome. I may black out some stuff over time, but I doubt it will be much of it. In fact, I plan on having some of the regular chrome stuff made Satin. I'd imagine there is a PC that matches it?

The local dealer has had it done and I believe there are a few owner photos around here showing some bikes that originally had chrome handlebars, but were later powder coated satin.

You can do it yourself bro. Find something chrome that you don't need and practice on it. Just use a fine grit sandpaper (1500-2000), depending on the finish your getting (trail and error). Then lightly polish it and your done! When you find the routine that works to your visual satisfaction, then try it on a smaller piece of chrome on your sled like a line or something.
The key is to sand in the same direction. Try it, you will be glad.
