That's my "get back" whip. I ended up putting it back on the right side 'cause it gets in the way when I'm coming to a stop. I've already stepped on it a few times. This one, of course is the "California Friendly" one which doesn't have the quick release buckle. Thank God I'm only here temporarily. I'm ready to go back home to Texas!

JIMSFBL did you have to relocate the wiring harness on your rear fender after installing the shotgun shock? Some kick *** bikes on here but i think everyone would agree yours is the show bike. I showed the pick to a buddy of mine who's won EZ rider shows in Pomona, San Jose and Sac. He agreed yours is definitely a contender. Thanks for any info dude.

I bought a La Rosa swing arm bag and took the leather straps it came with and threw em' away. I used big *** black tie wraps. Just pushed the guard by hand and slid the tie wraps thru.. I think it actually holds better then the leather straps, as my buddy used the leather straps.
Haha, Yeah a friend of mine came over to help me remove the rear tire and he was like "what does that go to?" i'm like "Oh.. um. yeah. Primary." and put it back in..
side question.. has anyone been able to mount one of the leatherworks swingarm bags with the belt guards still on? my guard presses up against the frame (top and bottom guards) right where the straps should go for the bag..
AND..
managed to get the forks taken apart without having to take them to harley. gonna have to buy new gaskets, but that's as per the norm.. but it was really like a 4 step process to get the lowers off and was surprisingly easy since they were already off the bike..
1) drain fluid from fluid drain port
2) remove the little clip at middle part of the fork, where the innards meet the outtards
3) remove allen bolt at the bottom of the fork
4) have friend hold fork down by the fender holes, then push down and slam upwards.. they come apart really easy, and there isn't much tension in those parts..

I fought the idea of getting a windshield all summer last year (I don't like the look of a bike with a windshield). At the end of the summer my dad got me the H-D detachable one that is made for our bikes (birthday present). I set it up so that I could use it for long rides or whatever ... once I rode with that thing on there, the only time I took it off was if I was just cruising around town. You can't beat a windshield for freeway riding! I commute 50 miles each way for work and 45 of those miles is 70 - 80 mph freeway riding.
... and just for the record, I still don't like the look of a bike with a windshield.
