Can you read the error code? My dash panel lights would go out, and I had the same issue with my idle. My code directed me to the voltage regulator. After I switched it out, both issues went away. Mine is a 2012 and I believe they had a recall on the voltage regulator.

2nd code Speedo, b1210.. PN 67033-11.. Fuel Sender Shorted Low/ Fuel Gauge Circut

Now i gotta figure out what to and how to fix them

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak Dan. Sucking air some place it shouldn't. Look around the throttle body there are some ports that are capped and those caps can deteriorate over the years. Check the boots where it meets the heads, with the bike running, spray a little shot of starter fluid at them and see if idle changes. Don't want to run it that way too long, it will get lean, hot and can cause some serious damage

Yeah, i cleaned out the throttle body yesterday, but still no change. Just talked to another friend of mine who had the same issue. He also replaced the the voltage regulator and it fixed it. got one coming will try that. If it continues, i'll go to my local shop and let them look at it. Thanks Chuck.

When you did the switch did you unhook the battery first?
