Calling all FatBoy Lo Owners
Funny thing about those very pipes... I just bought a SENA bluetooth system so i'd have tunes in my helmet. Installed it, sync'd to phone, fired up the music, all cool! Went out, fired up the bike and the tunes disappeared! I'm assuming they are still there under the roar and crackle of the motor... c'est la vie...
I guess it's true: if it's too loud, you're too old!

i feel a little gay with it on,but the helmet hides it somewhat..get my earphones from this guy, the bass response kicks butt!.

Question for the techies, I'm going back to stock exhaust on my recently purchased 2012 Fatboy lo. It came with V&H Big Radius exhaust. I like the look however, they are just too loud. I removed the baffles, wrapped them with fiberglass packing but although better they are still too loud. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against them. I had Rhinehearts on my Electra Glide but those pipes terminated behind me whereas the Big Radius terminates right below me thus the noise. I'll probably end up with some performance slip-ons. My question is, will I need to remap my ECM? I have the Stage one breather or can the ECM compensate? Thanks
If the bike was tuned to the BR pipes you may end up running a little rich in the areas where the BR pipes outperform the stockers. The BR pipes are pretty open so one effect you should feel is a little more low end torque. I would switch back and keep an eye on things, look for an "over fueled" smell, check the plugs for signs of running rich. Without knowing what was done when the pipes were installed it becomes a guessing game. My other question is "are you sure there are no other engine mods"? Some people install Stage one upgrades and don't bother tuning and some go all out and dyno tune a stage one. Was the bike a trade in at the dealer? Did you buy from a private owner? If you can get some more information on the history then your questions will be much easier to answer.
Boss Bags
for those of you with boss bags saddlebags im
curious if the mounting on the fatboy lo is on the detachable docking points or if one uses the forward most strut bolt. I would also like to know how long the nipple is that sticks out. It doesnt look that big in the photos but id hate to be wrong.
Thanks

Do you know if it was tuned when the AC and pipes were installed? Did you get any VCI (orange box with Screaming Eagle on it) or anything else with the bike?

Thanks for the info. I bought the bike from my local dealer. All they told me was it had a stage one performed. No tuner. It has the Screaming Eagle air filter with a K&N filter. I will install and see how it runs. I'll probably install some performance slip-ons. I'm trying to get the exhaust outlet behind me rather than just below my seat with the Big Radius.
Thanks

Do you need a set of stock pipes?
