Default Bags and apes

Just recently joined the forum and just bought my first Harley a few months ago. 2011 Fat Boy Lo. Would like to get a set of quick release hard bags but not sure what brand to go with. Also looking to put a set of apes on her. Any recommendations on brand? Easy enough to do by yourself or is this a shop job? Thanks for any input.

Thank you, will order a set during the down-time this winter.

I advise you not to do this unless you want another bike payment, because this MFer is seriously some of the most fun you can have on 2 wheels. Gobs of power and a very nimble feel, some front brakes that actually stop and woooo I had to have it.

i had an '08 super glide for 2 years, it was fun and nimble. but i'm getting older and need more comfort. but if you want a bike that will take off like a rocket, the lowrider is the way to go

Welcome to the forum Philpott. As far as bags, I don't know, bars? there's a ton of after market out there. I'm partial to BR's Custom Bars 'cause he'll make em like you want them and does great work. Don't use the search engine on this forum as it sucks, but if do a google search using HDForums with your question you'll find a ton of threads here on just about anything you want to know. There's a ton of info in this Fat Lo thread alone, long read though. Now let the mods begin!!

Wow, looks like the Lo has been dropped from the 2017 lineup.

There's always the regular Fatboy.

Personally, this new S model just opens up a whole range of new black parts I can put on my 13 Lo. I have an anniversary and slowly but surely trying to get all the damned chrome off of it.
