can you see over top of the windshield bag? nice set up
Yep, that shield is only a 6" I believe, so generally I'm looking over that, but even if I slouch real low or look THRU the shield for some reason, I'm still looking over the bag. Don't even think about it usually.
And thanks :-)
you and me both brother. used to be able to do the 500 mile days with no problems. after one now i gotta sleep a lot. the wind beats me up. i just don't like a windshield cause i get a lot of helmet chatter
I have a windshield but hate using it. to much air turbulence from below and it pushes my jacket up over my shoulders. I even tried the fugly fangs but nothing stops it but to ride without the shield. I am good for 300 miles a day that way but it beats the hell out of my shoulder which has had 4 surgeries due to and IED.
although i love to ride my bike, my body had been beaten up so much i don't think i'll ever have a completely comfortable day. But we're still above ground to enjoy the good days

I've never ridden with a conventional "windshield" (that clear bullet thing that is common on the other softails) so I can't speak of that, but this batwing eliminates most of the turbulence for me. Only a tiny bit of helmet rattle (and really not even all the time), so little that I got used to it and it doesn't bother me now. Like I said tho, I have the recurve Long Ride Shield which is supposed to throw the wind higher, thus allowing a shorter shield. The fangs do make a difference but if they were easier on and off I'd have them off more than on, probably just for seriously longer trips. I bought the batwing for multiday long rides, but have found that I kind of like having it on. But I also got it because it does come off so easily as sometimes you just NEED that wind in your face.
