Anybody get any goodies for their bike for Christmas?

Wifey got me the hogrida plate bracket and some Avon grips. Looking forward to getting my bike back even more now since I'll have (more) new stuff to put on it.

 

she got me a new harley belt to wear, but got me some nice bluetooth ear phones so i don't have to string a wire through my jacket for my mp3 player.. also got a new 3 way sorta trip pod flash light so i can see better up under the bike, the heads move in different directions

 

Mounted up my Garage Leathers swingarm bag this morning. It's a really nice bag, but I wish it had quick-release buckles. I thought that it did when I bought it, but I guess I got it mixed up with some of the other ones (Leatherworks, maybe?).

 

Yeah the Leatherworks bag has those alligator clips or whatever they are.

How did you mount the bag? did it come with leather straps to wrap around the swingarm? If so.. take the bag back off, go out and get some 3M Super 33 or Super 88 tape (i forget which..the wide one that's thick and vinyl) and do yourself a favor and wrap it around the swingarm. Those leather straps will rip the powdercoating right off.

Somewhere on this forum is guide for making a hard-mount bracket for these bags, if you're handy. I did that and it works amazingly. Mounts right to the upper and lower belt guard bolts

 

I wrapped the swingarm with some black vinyl wrap that I had and mounted it with zip ties instead of the leather straps. The straps seemed so cumbersome and there's no way to get them tight enough that it won't move around a bit. The zip ties are pretty solid.

 

That's good.. just keep an eye on them. Some (poor) photos of the mount i had made. It's just a sheet of like 1/8" thick stainless steel on the front and back, and a bunch of bolts and coupler nuts:

 

Sgt_Jim, your bike just doesn't look quite right in a garage, I kinda miss the dining room.

 

Don't tell the gf but Santa brought me a present that she can't find out about just yet. Mamma always complains when I buy for the Harley (saving for a house right now) but I made a nice bonus this past month and had to do it.

 

That's pretty badass. Where you gonna mount the amp?
