Calling all FatBoy Lo Owners
And on a side note, my friend came to visit for the weekend, it's his first time seeing that exhaust I built and he goes "Start it up!" So when I do he jumps like 3' in the air then starts laughing and says to me "That's the sound that's made when Hell's front gate is opening..holy hell". Anyways, I just wish I had some good sound recording equipment for everyone to hear it.
...yet my 85 year old neighbor says I'm the quietest neighbor she's ever had. Weird.
I have a question for those who have installed woods cams and lifters, I have a tapping noise that appears to sound like a lifter tap, wasn't there when first did the cam but after about 500 miles started and it comes and goes and seems to be getting a bit loader..... Might be me being a bit paranoid lol .......one a diff note went to hagerstown md bike week and had bike dyno'ed 100 tq and 90 hp not bad for for my little 96 with just a cam swap the guy said my stage 1 is choking motor out, told me to get K&N and will pick up a few more digits, but I think he was trying to sell me parts also said that my auto tunner was useless I need a full custom tune, but motor was dead on with map with his sniffer....
New Jersians don't let other New Jersians let their sons wear crocs.
Okay, so I hear my lifters a lot, too. After listening to other people's videos online, they all make the exact same noise mine does. I was so paranoid I went so far as to completely disassemble the cam chest three times and ensure I had my pushrods properly extended and everything lubed up as it should be, noise is still there, but I don't feel as bad about it after hearing it in other bikes.
Idk what intake you have, but everyone says that a K&N Filter will help clear up the intake and get 1-2 more HP. I run a K&N filter, but i haven't run anything else, so I dont know.
I dont know how much i trust auto-tuners, but if you're concerned with it, after 500 milies or so, pull your spark plugs out. If they're either black or white there's a problem with the tune. If they're clean-ish, you're good to go.

LedBoots for comparison shopping.
[quote=LedBoots;12915497]I'm going to be looking at an '11 Lo this weekend. They're asking $14,999 with 6700 miles on it. Its got 18" apes, back rest with rack...other than that, looks pretty much stock.
I'm going to try to get it out the door (tax, title, plates, etc.) for $14,000. Does that sound reasonable?
I Found this add on CL in PA.

Damn...thanks, man. I'll check it out when I get home (everything from CL blocked here at work)
edit: Checked out the ad. He's selling it on consignment from the same dealership where I saw the one I was looking at. If I remember it correctly, they had it listed at 15,999 for the pleasure of doing business in their showroom. They may have lowered that since he lowered his ask price (he was originally asking 15K)

Well readjusted rear cylender pushrods and so far so good, started storming like crazy so warmed it up and reved it up a few times and tapping gone, crossing my fingers lol.... Also finished up my 20k service and adjusted clutch (since it slipped last time I got on it since cam install) •••••on a diff note talk to a buddy of mine that works at a stealership and does just basic dyno runs and told me he has seen K&N filters after they get some miles on them screaming eagle air filter flows better and he recd putting bigger injectors to get a few extra HP so considering doing it if he can get for me cheap
