So far I have had no problems with the Barebones. I was out for 5 hours on it Sunday with no discomfort. But I do drive for a living and ride these crappy interstates for 10-14 hours a day. Yeah that's the back half of the wife's little 883 chrome *****.Name: 191_zps913ed2b9.jpg

Default Looking for new pipes

Love my 2013 Fatboy Lo, however am still on stock pipes and the bike just doesn't sound like a Harley. I am curious what recommendations you all have. I don't want to wake the neighbors out of bed in the morning and want to remain noise legal. Does that limit my options?

A nice set of Rush slip on mufflers with 1.75 baffles should put a smile on your face. They can bark pretty good but as long as your light on the throttle in the neighborhood they aren't to obnoxious.

The guy at Rush told me 90 percent of Rush slip-ons with the 1.75 inch baffle do NOT have to be remapped. I had them, but they were a little too quiet for me. I like my pipes loud. Now I have V&H pro pipe 2-into-1 and it sounds great, deep and throaty, and I would still like a little more noise, but that's just me.

I have Rush 1.75 slip-ons currently. I really like them. Had some decel pop before the tuner but I actually liked that popcorn sound. They are quiet enough that they don't get complaints if I don't crack the throttle. Guys I ride with have said that they are pretty loud when riding behind me. Going to a 2:1 vintage fishtail as soon as it's finished being built and my Rush slip-ons will be for sale. They have about 800 miles on them. If I were keeping the look I'd keep the slip-ons. Very impressed with them.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sounds like folks have had good experiences with Rush. Searching for the balance between neighborhood friendly when needed and vintage Harley growl. Thanks again for the advice.

Default Lo Bagger

So I have been thinking about bagging out the Lo.....Last year my riding habits changed and long is becoming a common theme. I put on about 8000 last year and I just got back from a 3100 mile round trip from WV to OK City. This last trip is the longest I have ever done in one trip with about 635 miles in a day being the least number of miles a day I rode. I survived this trip but man was I crushed at the end of everyday and next year I am riding to Utah and back so about double what I just did. I am thinking about a Wide Open Customs fairing, a mustang seat and then going with some hard bags. What else for comfort? My main goals are to keep the bike looking good so a rear fender will come eventually but comfort is the priority. I have read through this entire thread since it started so I know what has been said but I am hoping you guys who have done it or anyone might have a fresh perspective on what works. I dont want to slam my bike so no extended hard bags or fenders just the normal stuff that looks good and is functional. Also yes I know an actual touring bike would be better but this one is paid off and I dont want another payment.
