Calling all FatBoy Lo Owners
I dropped the Lo off at the dealer today to try and get the idle problem figured out. The RPMs have been dropping when I come to a stop in first with the clutch pulled in. Dropping down to anywhere from 700, 800, to about 940 or so and then going back to normal until just randomly doing it again. I also have them looking into why the gear indicator in the odometer window shows random gears when the clutch is pulled in and it should show nothing. Unfortunately they'll have it for about a week or so till they can get to it but I can't trust it anymore since it's acting up more and more often. From the mechanics conversations while I was dropping off the bike they seem to be wanting to blame it on the Power Vision. Could that be it at all? I'm thinking not since it was fine with the tune it had for at least 5,000 miles. Seems like if the download from the tuner was the problem it would have been doing it for a lot longer. Well here's hoping it's covered under warranty.
On my front fork I have an issue with my front caliper. I put cardboard in it while I was working, but I think the handle got squeezed. It is back on, but is dragging on the disk. How do I fix this?
I will post pictures when I get the last pieces on. Looking really good. The fork sliders seem to have the biggest impact. Very pleased.
It's been happening for a while now. Probably at least a couple of months or more. At first it was maybe once or twice a week. Within the last two weeks it's been pretty much everyday. I reflashed the PV with the map I was running and it still did it. I then tuned that map and it still did it. Since it's getting worse I'm guessing that somethings failing. The gear indicator in the Gear/RPM odometer function is also acting up and showing random gears when the clutch is pulled in. Someone in another thread mentioned they had idle problems and it was fixed with a new throttle position sensor. I'll have to wait a bit to see what the dealer has to say about it.
Thanks Jim. I spent the weekend putting my covers and fork sliders on my bike. I had one issue with the primary cover. One of the inspection cover threads were tapped in the wrong place. I am sending it back.
