Tire Change a Success

Tire Change a Success
Well as I posted the other day I was wanting to change my own tires. With advice from Doc. VTwin I ordered a No Mar tire balance apparatus, Tire Irons, and wheel weights. I wrapped the tire irons in duct tape to prevent scratching my reapor wheels ( thanks to the advice received on this forum). The job went much easier than I expected. I would advise anyone that does there own wrenching to give this some thought. It really was easy. ( Total time with wheel off was less then 1 hour ). I had purchased a new Dunlop from JakeWilson.com. Total spent for the tire and tools about 250 bucks. ( From now on all I need is a new tire. ) Thats about what the dealer charges for 1 tire & change. The best part is from now on I can by my tires from where ever I want. Do the job right, and not have to visit the dealer. Thanks to all that offered advice and encouragement.

I did it and used dynabeads.....easier to dump 'em in when new tire is half mounted. Takes a while to get 'em in thru valve stem. I used 2 oz for rear tire and 1 and 1/2 oz for front. Using the best measurement of them I could come up with. Tires run great!
I also used Armorall for tire mounting lube. Nary a problem. You don't want any water down in the tire with the beads.
Good Luck......Pete
