Squirting sound
#11
Hi again, and sorry for bringing this back, but it might help someone else if we talk about it.
Update: replaced the fuel pump and checked the lines. Lines have no holes. Squirt still there... it got worse over the summer (not ridden much because of other things going on). last week, replaced the fuel pressure regulator, and now it wont do anything but idle. Only things left to replace (chasing parts, I know) is the in tank fuel filter, and the fuel injectors them selfs. No question she's not getting enough fuel. The squirt sounds like it's inside the tank. I find it hard to believe both the fuel pump and the new fuel pressure reg can be the problem.
To be clear, we had this EXACT same sound and problem when it was the fuel pump gone bad. After we got it back from the MoCo, the squirt was gone, and the proper "dentist drill" primer sound had returned, and the bike was running great.
We changed the plugs today, and they both look normal... so I'm still thinking it something going on inside the tank. Any ideas?
Thanks in advanced.

If U can hear squirting and U not beating Ur meat right before that,,,Then U've got a pin hole in U gas line inside Ur tank...
U can do all this Ur self or let the dealer or INDy do all the work..
Mine got the hole in the line last summer 500 miles away from home while on vacation..
Had to have dealer do it, went to 3 dealer before I found one with all the needed parts..
I had everything put in new,,, $340 for parts and 2 hrs labor...
Mine ran perfect with full tank of gas, but after 80-90 miles she'd start missing..
Heres one link that shows how to do it. Just follow down through the Thread.

Just bite the bullet and fix her, U'll be glad U did.

Oh yea, we did all the work. Its not that hard at all once you figure out how to get the dang pump assembly out... Spring loaded "L" bracket and all.
Those plastic lines are freaking expensive.
---
Rakthi: The bad gas milage is a combination of the pin hole, and a current bad tune. PCIII in it now, but going to switch to the Thundermax.... and let it tune itself.
