Default Dynatek TC88 ICM user opinions ???

My 2004 Fatboy turned 40K so I did the tensioners - actually not too bad - maybe
synthetic oil helps. While I was at it I picked up some 203 cams cheap on ebay and
shoved them in - already had an air cleaner, carb jetting and 2 into 1 Propipe. This
is a California bike (lucky me?) and I've never got it to ping, even in heat, so me
thinks more timing is in order. As most folks have found out, the SE ignition control
module only raises the rev limiter - no ignition advance change - and that's why it's
both CARB and EPA/DOT legal. Dynatek has a KISS plug and play TC88 ICM that has
simple switches to set spark advance - initial, rate, & total - and rev limiter RPM. No
complicated ICM initialization procedure to go through and it interfaces with every-
thing - alarm, etc. Sounds good but I'd like to hear from folks that have real life
experience with this unit. Like the saying goes, "if it sounds too good to be true, it
just may be." BTW - it's their TC88-3 / third go around / hmmmmmmm.

I run it on my 95", 9.8 compression, SS 570 motor. No complaints here. motor made 100 hp 104 tq. try it out just set the curve right. mines on 32b 34b and 6250 rpm

thats some good numbers!!i just had my motor done,1550 and andrews 37 cams,it had done 77000 km, man the guy showed me the tensioners,one only had about 1mm of plastic left on it!!just in the nick of time for me!!phew!! lol

I realize this is not what you are asking. 203's are a mild cam, not a high rever or high compression cam for sure. Especially in an 88". Guess what Im sayin is, imo your money would be better spent on a big bore 95" kit. If you already have a 95", your money would be better on some headwork or maybe different cams.

I have the screamin eagle icm and it retards the timing at full throttle and it is not street legal and I can tell a difference. Its not hard to program at all, I dont have a dash or turn signals or normal bar switches and I programmed mine myself with no problem at all. But when I do some motor work I do plan on switching modules, so if u find something out or get one let me know. Good luck

Regardless of what I do I need a SERT for my ICM or replace it with one that can be
tuned by myself - manually if possible. Spoke to Dynatek rep and the TC88-3 does that
with a choice of advance curves and rev limit settings. Yeah, 95 cu in is really nice but
not spending that kinda money - got the cams for a song - while replacing my tensioners.
Check out matt816's 95 cu in numbers - very impressive - obviously done right. Tnx for
the input.

Makes sense.

A couple things though. Matt816 does not have 203's.

He does have a 95" kit and headwork and Mik carb... 9.8 compression and a tc88.

Pistons = $130
Bore cylinders = $100


Whats that tc88 cost?
