Nice bike man. This is what I'm looking to do. Do you scrape those 5" extended bags at all? Is your bike lowered? What bag and mounting kit are you using? Was it a pretty straight forward install? Thanks man
I imagine he does. I had 5's on mine for a short time lowered 1.5 inches and I went back to stock sized because I'd scrape them everywhere. Still scrape my pro pipe but takes a decent lean angle to do so where the bags did it in intersections at normal speeds. Look good but didn't like that part much.
Here's my 2015 Heritage. Next month will install a PM open primary and new wheels. I know I want spokes but not sure if I want to go a larger diameter wheel.
I know I could have bought a Street Glide but I wanted a softail and I'll build my own glide.

if I get aggressive with her she will scrape for sure. I'm on a shotgun so I can adjust as needed. I'm using the Softail conversion brackets. Super easy to install for sure. I have a love hate with them, they work well but I hate them when I take the bags off. I keep looking at the quick release brackets but I can't imagine they will support the bags well enough.
'08 Cross Bones, i.e. Springer Softail. These are the factory designed XBones bags, so nothing earth shattering, but the right look and with barebacks hardware, detachable in 15seconds. They are on the bike about half the time.
Put mine back on this weekend for some road tripping with the wife because it was so nice over the New Year's weekend. I've got just enough room now with the Commander rear tire I can slip a wrench in there on the back bolt and swap in and out in about 30 minutes without having to take the tire off anymore. Makes me love them more.
