Voltage Regulator, good or shot....
2002 heritage, have battery drain when riding to the point where the bike dies. getting about 12 V(AC) out of stator, smelled fluid, it's ok. Basically trying to rule out regulator. meter to pins and get .122 on each pin in the connector.
When bike is running and meter on battery, it stills shows 12.3V. Doesn't jump to 14+ V.
What should the pins off the regulator read while the bike is running.
Battery drain only when bike is running...
Trying to keep it from taking it to the dealership!

Unplud the stator and Ck the ac voltage from the stator while running, it should increase when reved up say to 2000 rpm it should read some where around 40v ac if ok then ck the volt reg and see if you have power dc volts when off key on on one leg, not sure which one but should read batt voltage. if you got all that then replace the regulater. Hard to ck the reg as it is a rectifier and diodes. This is a quick way not what is said in the sm give it a try.
