I just changed my front tire today on my Night Train and it was a piece of cake. I use some cheap rim protectors from JP Cycles and then used some pry bars. The trick is to use some type of soap around the bead (I used Dawn dish soap) and it makes the tire slide on much easier. I've never balanced my bike tires, I just line up the red dot on the tire with the valve stem and haven't had any problems yet knock on wood.

I do. I break the bead loose using a bottle jack and a floor joist in the
downstairs. Then I put the wheel/tire in my wife's Blazer and while she
is at work, the heat in the car warms the tire and makes removal easy
with tire irons.
I also place the new tire in the Blazer as well. Just put some silicone spray
or some soap on tire bead, lay the new tire on the wheel in the correct position, turn
and press, and it slides right on. Usually, if I can hold the wheel, I can twist
or "screw" the other side on as well.
Really is easy if the tires are warm. When I put the first side on, I''ll add
Dyna Beads for balancing. Best accessory I have ever ordered!
