I've gotton all my H-D parts from Zanotti's or Chicago H-D. Prices are comparable and service about the same. I too hope H-D doesn't muck things up for those of us trying to save a buck.

I always tried buying out of state at Surdyke...they always had great prices...no tax and cheap shipping. Far less than buying locally. I just got an email from them saying they would no longer be discounting prices. Now I know the reason.

This sucks.

Great people to work with and prices usually around 20% off all the time. No tax also if you're not in PA. Very easy to spend a shitload of money there. Trust me, I know.
Their shipping prices suck... I just put in two very small light items into a cart and the shipping is $15.00

Cheaper to buy them at the local dealer.

Just get the parts book and if you place a couple of orders it pays for itself.

Zanotti's has been great over the years, but I do wonder what's going to happen to their prices at the end of the year. I wanted to use Chicago HD but they charge in-state buyers almost 10% in taxes which made Zanotti's cheaper. Chicago HD had cheaper prices on most things but the Illinois tax made Zanotti's cheaper.

Local dealer only discounts things in bits and pieces and usually it's stuff they can't sell. I hate going in there and having to buy anything.

Im borderline Communist saying this I know, but lets face it, pending on the part your buying alot of aftermarket chrome parts are cheaper - just got installed chrome hand controls, perch, master cylinder and blades for 120.00? MoCo charges something to the tune of 400+? and the cheap set I bought is as shiny as the rest. That might be the reason for the sales going away though....kinda like your local wrench selling tires, you can ebay a brand new Avon 240 for 197.00 or get charged 300...hmm well eventually thats going to kill that local guys business (as it has). Just my opinion...but doesnt the stealers make enough $ in there service dept? What about the $50 tshirts? Seriously, maybe they need to get Lean Six Sigma or something but I wonder where all there revenue goes? I still go occassionally into the stealer to buy something that I probably dont need just to show support. Since the sales go away, you wont find a tear in my eye, IMHO.

Part #'s aren't that hard to lookup. Grab a catalog the next time you're at the dealer or go to the HD website. You can also email or call Zanotti's and they'll help you. They've always been very responsive to my questions and inquiries. I even ordered the wrong part one time and John was real quick to get me out the correct one without any hassle. They have a bunch of aftermarket stuff too. As for shipping, I just order a bunch of stuff to spread out that shipping some. It still comes out way cheaper than the local stealer. Of course, YMMV. Just trying to help.
