chilock...I have EZ brackets on my '04 heritage with a detachable backrest. Also have a detachable tour pack. they all mount using the same hardware. when you get the EZ brackets or Ghost Brackets you specify what you need. the bolts are longer to accomodate the grooved bushing that holds the detachable backrest side plates/tour pack.

Check out Barebacks they work with the stock brackets for a clean look.

Not trying to be smart *** or knock a company's products, but the quick detach bag and backrest systems for the Heritage are costly solutions and not needed. Both the bags and backrest can be removed with a wrench or socket and a torx bit in less than five min.

PS... go to your local hardware and get some chrome torx round head cap or standard chrome bolts to put in place of the studs when your bags are off. They are much cheaper than purchasing more "specialty" parts.

I came to the same conclusion in the garage, it only takes a few minutes with a socket wrench 9or a pair of pliers to add/remove them.

The only real concern is if you are parking the bike (like at a hotel) and you want to bring the contents of the bags in... and bag liners solve that issue. If you really want to be "thrifty" those $1.00 reusable shopping bags from walmart or most grocery stores work very well... 2 of those per saddlebag and you have instant luggage

When I travel, I remove the bags < 1 minute and carry them to my room. BAREBACKS = QUALITY. If you decide to wrench it like others mentioned, what does it leave protruding from the fender....a long bolt, not sure, been a long time. Quick disconnects have chrome caps and look great, if you care about that. Have fun!
