I have the Staggereds and yea, they have a bark, but I LOVE the sound...nothing like cruising down the road and giving it a punch....been smiling since the day I had them put on!!!

 

I have the same V&H but with the quiet baffles and the sound is wonderful, cars in front of me always note I'm coming. In my case I also installed the SE Air Cleaner stage I and a Fuelpak. Bike is great. Your best choice.

 

I have them on my Fat boy. I personally do not consider them too loud. Loud enough, deep and throaty but not obnoxious, just perfect . I have heard numerous pipes that are much louder and much more annoying.

 

I have the quiet baffles in mine - the dyno figures show a reduction in hp and high end torque which the V & H representative confirmed.

 

That is strange.

I have the pipes with quiet baffles, SEAC, and did the SERT and Dyno and got just under 79HP and just under 79 Torque....which is about as high as I have ever seen for Stage 1. This was done after the Quiet baffles were installed.

 

I wish they made pipes for models later than 84' so I could some for my wifes 79' low rider.

 

My BIL has them on his fatty....they are LOUD..
I told him I wasn't ridin with him unless he followed, they are obnoxious even with ear plugs when I'm behind him. Takes all the fun outta the ride for me.

 

I've gottem. I originally thought they were too loud, but after I put some miles on I grew to really appreciate the Harley sound. I can leave my garage or putt down the street and just love the idle sound. Or when I get out on the highway I can twist it and make some beautiful (maybe obnoxious) noise.

Since you've done the work of having them installed, I vote to give them 1000+ miles and re-evaluate.

 

They say that wind noise will cause more damage than loud pipe noise over the years. But I don't know who "They" are anyway.

 

can always put in some big city thunder baffles !!
