The wind will pound that tarp against your chrome and paint the whole trip.
As for the filter in the original post. I'd just take it off and throw it in the cab of the truck.
For the person who asked about washing the bike: I put aluminum foil over my open air cleaner until I am done washing it.
Otherwise, it will keep dripping for a long time after drying the bike.

Ya know I see people doing this and never understood it. Ok so you putting a bike on a trailer or in a truck bed. What could happen to the bike that would not happen if you were ridding it down the same street. I mean, are you more prone to rock damage or bugs by trailering it? I can see a show bike that is a trailer queen and you wold not want to detail it out again.
Anyway random thoughts.....

I have moved twice with my bike in a trailer, tie it down"I do two straps per side"and cover the bike with like 4 blankets, and get a GOOD tarp, like the kind truckers use,tie-it bunge it..DON'T get one of those blue cheapos,It won't last 50mi.and there you go....The key is a good tarp..no worries
