About the same situation for me but 2 Rottweiler's.Just had to get up and get my slipper before he chewed it up like my briefcase.

Zeus (abondoned at 4 weeks - 98lbs), Athena (shot through both front legs and thrown in a sewer - 52 lbs), Apollo (abandoned - 96lbs.)
Hershey (named by an Authistic child who first adopted him) - Sheperd mix w/ Basset (not right in the head, on medication. saved from being put down - 85lbs.
Mandy- Minature Australian Sheperd (hit by car @ 8 weeks, broken back leg - Smartest and 45lbs. )
Katie - Louisiana Catahoula - Parvo and Heartworm survivor - 52lbs.
Mia - Jack Russell and ??? (abandoned - 35lbs.)

All live in peaceful harmony inside our home. Three sleep with my wife and I and the others have a couch they share.

Pits have destroyed two dining room tables and chairs, two couches/love seats, five tables and two back yards of sod. I would have more if I could.
I just love 'em all! It doesn't make it any easier to resist when my wife is the General Manager of a vet clinic who just happens to treat most of the rescue group's dogs in the Atlanta area. Only pic I have uploaded is of Zeus and Apollo.

Golden Retriever

 

Currently one 7 year old, fat, grumpy Lab cross, named "Patch". (We got him "used" about 6 1/2 years ago...his name was "Patch" when we got him...no idea why...he's blacker than the ace of spades!!) More recently, in a moment of insanity, picked ourselves up a purebred Black Lab pup, which we (well, OK...I...) named "Nicotine". (Off handed joke on the way home from the breeders, and the name stuck...we've shortened it to "Nico" for day to day use...) The idea was to get this fellow to replace our 17 year old cocker spaniel, who we had to send to the Great Beyond last summer, so our buddy "Patch" would have a friend. We inadvertently aged him overnight!! He puts up with a lot of shiite from the pup, but occasionally straightens him out, and for the most part they get along well enough. Here they are in a quieter moment;
