Sounds like the H-D module is the best fit for my application...

I plan to use my turn signals in a run/brake/turn configuration WITHOUT using a conventional, fender mounted tail light. If the H-D unit will take care of me... I'm there!!

Add a side mounted plate with a illuminated frame, and I'm riding!! Thinking about a roto-plate Jr. for those duties.

Thanks for all the advice!! Ya just gotta love this forum!!

Loose... The only thing about doing that is the difference between the running and brake isn't much... Legal yes... Safe ??? You know what I mean right... Some old ladie behind you may not notice the diference? You can run LED's without a load EQ if you only run them in the back... If you change the front too the you'll need a load EQ... Your best bet are just plug in LED's, same as the bulbs but in red. You can find them at the dealer... that way you know they fit without problems. It may make you feel a little safer since they would be brighter.

I have these Dog Eyes I got from a friend... They have Run, Brake and turn in a amber ring around the red LEDs lots of wires but they work great.

As I said earlier, the Badlander module has lots of contrast between brake and running light functions - ~30% bright for running lights and 100% for brake lighting, unlike other modules. With a quality LED, Custom Dynamics (which is what I have in the rears, they fit perfectly in the stock bullet housings) or Radiantz, this works really well. Even at 30% these quality led's are obvious. And this is legal. The Custom Dynamics LED are warrantied for lifetime and money back guarantee. They also sell Badlander and other modules...

Like Story said, his setup is not legal, not DOT approved.

Just trying to help you out and share what I learned after trying different stuff...

another vote for badlands:

Dan is one of the most patient mother****ers on the planet

I just bought an illuminator to put into my 94 FXSTC, and I have a record of about 65 emails from that guy. I asked some ignorant questions, hemmed and hawed, and the dude just kept responding politely and directly.

get the badlands module. It's worth the extra bucks if only for the support.

Two new developments...

1) I shot off an email to Badlands explaining my project. We'll see what they have to say.

2) I'm getting a H-D module.... FOR FREE!!! Seems that a buddy has the complete kit that he never installed and will be dropping it by later today!! If this works... SCORE!!! More money for other bits!
