The hiccup is gone
I bought my 2004 Fatboy in May and it rode alright for the first few months that I had it. It sat up for a few months late summer and early fall as I was mending from a busted ankle from a wreck I had on the bike. The bike was ok and only the handlebars and engine guards were bent, but everything else was in good order.
When I was able to start riding again I noticed that the bike had a hiccup at lower RPMs. I figured it was gummed up from sitting a while - ethanol breaking down and such - and that it needed to be cleaned out. A mechanic buddy of mine helped me and we pulled the carb, checked the jets and they were fine. However, the mechanic at the dealer who put the stage 1 on the bike didn't swap out the needle in the carb. So we put another needle in that wouldn't lean the mix out so much and adjusted the mixture. Voila! No more hiccup and I dare say the bike runs much better than it has since I god it.
All this is just in time to start riding in warmer weather. All in all a successful Saturday.
