Angry PCIII Deuce Install

Talk about a PITA! How are you guys installing this? There's instructions for mounting underneath the mudguard for the SE Deuce. I might try that. I pushed the relays down per instructions, but there's NO WAY IN HELL to get the PCIII and the stock harness to fit between the battery and ecm. I ended up putting the PC underneath the passenger seat for now. There's still not much room for the stock harness, but it doesn't seem to be getting pinched underneath the seat (i hope not!) I mostly ride with the SE Deuce seat, but run the HD Sundowner for the long trips. The SE seat is so low-pro.. the PC is a very tight fit.

I've also got to call fuel moto tomorrow. The bike wont start with the PC hooked up, just keeps turning over with the map they programmed on it. I removed the PC and reconnected the ECM and it started right up....

I did one on another bike and it went under the splash guard and removing the relay bracket was enough room for the cabling.

somewhere in the forum there was a post that had pictures of how it installs. i did not have the alarm so it went there and the opening under the relays was the way to rout the harness and the ecm connection was snug. i now have thundermax and no mounting issue there.

I put the module in front of the splash guard where the security goes and then pulled like hell on the wire bundle to get enough slack to put the harness where they show in the instructions. I switched seats to a DG buttcrack solo and thought I would need to find a new spot for the harness but it still works good - the seat does rest on the bundle which I don't really like. Once you get your seat on, the wire bundle will conform - after a few days when the bundle settles, you can secure it with the velcro.

Once you get the mapping issue worked out, you will be very happy with the PCIII. Good luck.
