Default Wire connected to stock air cleaner back plate

Just upgraded to the Screamin Eagle back plate on my 09 Fatboy and noticed that when I removed the stock air cleaner back plate, there was a wire attached to it with a plastic stud. This was not a bare wire but looked similar to a wire that would connect to something. Not really sure what this is. It does not appear to be anything related to the injector but not 100% sure. Bike starts up and I don't notice anything strange. There was no place to connect this to the back of the Screamin Eagle backplate so I just let it hang there. Any ideas what this is?

Before you tie it off where you can't get at it.
Get some dielectric grease and make sure the connections are thoroughly covered in it.
That will keep the chances of any water getting in there to 'maybe' short them out.
They may not be used on our bikes, but those wires have to go someplace (the ECM?) and without knowing exactly what they are used for and where they do go.
Why take the chance they might screw something up on you when its so cheap and simple to prevent it.
