Default Heritage fuel tank

How can I tell the difference in a carb and injected fuel tank on a 2005 heritage..been told they are the same..the one I am looking at is new and has no parts installed on tank, is bare..

Do you want one for EFI or carb? An EFI tank will work for a carb. The tank for carb does not have a removable top plate on it, hence no hole in the top middle of the tank. The efi tank has a big hole in the center for the fuel pump.

Curiosity question for the above year 2000. Do the carb'd tanks have a different fuel line connect? do they use a petcock or are they just quick disconnect like the fuel injections?

My last bike before my 07 had a petcock... but that was pre 2000.
