Default Where can I find the Softail Seat with high bars on rear

I have noticed and want the seat that I see on some Softails. My '09 Softail has athe original seat with the low chrome bar around the back of the seat, but I see some have larger/higher chrome bars on the back of the seat. Can anyone please tell me where I can get it, who makes it? Thanks so much, and peaceful journey- KCAztek

I'm doing the same thing, I like the stock seat with the old school bar, the problem is our stock seat attaches to the sissy bar. I'm down to two choices. 1. The Drag Specialties attitude bar in 18" and 30" inch sizes, but they have no cross brace for the seat. Welding on a fabricated piece may require re-chroming. Local indy quoted me $350 total.

2. Ginz Choppers sells the Hell Bent bar in several heights and they quoted me $60 for their FXS Custom cross mount. I'm going to call them this weekend for details.

If you find something else, please message me.

Think you might be talking about the grab bar that came stock on the Heritage springer softail. Can also be put on softail deluxe...as I have. No longer available through HD (might find available as leftover stock at some dealers) but, I found mine new on eBay. Not cheap but, great looking nostalgic addition. Check my pix....think I have a couple reflecting the mod.

Actually I think the heritage grab rail is still available but not the pad that goes with it.

Nope, both parts are now obsolete, and unavailable.

If you find one, you will pay a premium for it.

actually the Heritage springer saddlebags, Heritage Springer seat W/grab rail, heritage springer windshield bag, and heritage springer tank panel are all AVAILABLE. I just bought them from the dealer. If you parts guy isnt a dumbass he will order them for you. If they cant figure it out for you tell them to call harley vintage parts. harley still makes and sells them. mine are brand new and made in december.

if you like your seat and just want the grab rail, you can buy just that. vtwin mfg also sells the grab rail.

Best option is to get one custom built locally. I paid a total of $300 for mine including chrome costs (mind you it is my buddy that made mine). Average quote online was $600!

On a side note if any of you want I can ask my buddy how much it would cost to make one for any of you guys.

Harleys price is similar. if you paid to much sorry. but look at the dealer for parts before overpaying on ebay. these parts are still available. here is the aftermarket rail. either way. no where near 600 or 300

Wow- Thanks everyone for so much information. It was all helpful. I took this info adn stopped in at the dealer and they told me that the Grab Rail is available for my bike for the low price of $148. I'll order it. My thinking is that I want to have the top rail wrapped in leather to match the seat. But my thinnking is what gets me into messes, so I'll need to test it first. Thanks again!!!
