Stainless Splash Guard

Stainless Splash Guard
Just picked up the stainless splash guard that replaces the cheap plastic one that hugs the tire.
The problem is this LaserGuard protective film that's on the visible side (once installed) of the splash guard.
Anyone familiar with this stuff? What's the easiest way to get it off without damaging the polished metal finish?
Any sheet metal/laser cutter workers in here, or anyone bought this part that can help out?
Thanks.

OK. Turns out I just had to stop being a ***** about it, but the stuff is coming off. Pain in the *** though. damn.
Lookin forward to getting this on. I'll post up some before/after photos when I do it. Going to wait until I put my new rubber on when I have the rear wheel off to do it.
Saw this part on a custom Fat Boy Lo at a dealership near my hometown in WV. Really cleans up the swing arm very nicely. Stay tuned.
