I'm going to swap out the pipes, A/C and add a Fuelpak to my Heritage. I'm told that California has "random" bike inspections. Does anyone know if this is true, and is so, how they are conducted?
A CA senate bill #435 (SB435) was proposed which would require smog checks on motorcyles. Dear God in heaven, who thinks of this CRAP?!?!? Google 'SB435' to check the status. I think the bill was withdrawn, but not sure. This bill would seriously restrict one's right to pursuit of happiness, a Constitutional right I might add, and should be stopped....
In the HOG literature I just received, they list whether the states have inspections or not, and for California they say "random". I've never heard of it either.
I herd they were going to be random check's kinda like dui check point's for loudness & safty inspection. After market bar's cable clamps lights .tires .
Smog . Anything outher than factory . That's just a rumor on my end i don't really know but anyway just something to look out for. You can't trust thoes guy's who run your state yhey'll screw you over at any rate.
ive lived in Ca for 45 years and ridden since 1968 and never seen a bike inspection. They are starting to do sound checks in some towns for loud pipes.
Never heard of it when I lived there. I had to get bikes inspected at the DMV and all they did was verify VIN and mileage. Didn't even ask to start it. The las 10 years I lived there I didnt need to visit any smog inspections, I had only bike and diesels
