Default Softail Custom or Dyna Wide Glide

As I said in my new member post, i'm going to afghanistan for a little while but when i get back i'm going to use the money i've saved to get my first Harley. I need some opinions on which bike would be best for me. I've had my eye on the softail custom for a while but now i've started to like the Wide Glide as well. I'll be doing a good bit of two-up riding and i'm not sure how well the wide glide would handle that. Also, please dont suggest that i go for a touring bike instead. that's not really an option right now. So other than the price difference, is there anything that makes one bike better than the other? Thanks in advance for the info.

P.S: sorry if this is posted in the wrong section. it was the most appropriate place i could find.

First a big "Thank You" is in order, and with that said welcome to the forum. I'm a softail fan myself, I do think there a little better for 2up riding than the dyna's, but to each his own.

As stated above, thanks for your service. My vote would be for the Softail.

Another "thank you" for your service.

I LOVE my Softail Custom and I also considered the Wide Glide.

I love the look, the performance and the comfort.

Another vote for the "obvious"!

Softail, the Custom is like a blank slate to work with. I also like the availability of parts and the re-sale better. I looked at and rode both and bought a FXST to go with my Heritage. Havn't regretted a day of it.

Dyna. Who wants to ride a bike thats called soft. Show where there is better resale with the **** tail. You want to ride hard or do you want to ride something pretty?
