Aftermarket controls
I am going to chrome my controls, I have found some from Drag Specialties for $185.00 through Zanotti (discounted from $250.00). I compared these to the HD brand which are around $360.00 (including discount) for all parts involved. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the aftermarket controls as opposed to using the HD brand. I would love to save the money but I want good quality as well.
If anyone has any other aftermarket brands I am all ears.

RE: Aftermarket controls
I got this set for Christmas last year and the fit and chrome were great as was the price. I installed them my self in about one hour with no fitment problems at all. They look as good as new still but the bike is garaged and they are only 7 1/2 months old. lol...

Stephanie Feld had a good artical in the July 2006 issue of American Iron magazine about Genuine Harley-Davidson and aftermarket parts. A lot of the aftermarket parts (according to the artical) are built by the same companies that build the H-D parts. Makes sense. I guess it's just what you feel comfortable with.

RE: Aftermarket controls
thanks
Very good info.
I am actually leaning towards leaving my controls black and changing out the switches, torx screws and resevoir cover for chrome ones. This way I keep the Black/Chrome contrast. As you can see in my sig. photo I have black engine guards and I am about to add the black axle covers. I also want to add black lower fork sliders in the future. This is also a lower cost alternative to chroming controls completely
