To tune or not......
After reading several comments regarding tuning or not tuning after adding slip ons and high flow air filter on an '08 Heritage Softtail. A Harley Dealer advised me to install slip ons and a high flow air filter, disconnect battery while installing upgrades, reconnect, turn on switch 4 to 5 times without cranking, then crank and let idle for 5 minutes, turn off for 5 minutes, crank and let idle for 5 more minutes, turn off, wait 5 minutes, crank and ride. That this would reset the computer. Said that the dealership would still honor Harley warrantry. But if I wanted to waste money, they would be happy to dyno my bike. LOL. Some HD Dealers seem to be honest, not just out to make money.

Malarky. If you're making these mods and want to maximize them, you have to remap the computer. Also the the bike is programmed to meet epa exhaust emissions and noise regulations, not maximum performance. IMO if you're doin' exhaust and air, do the complete stage 1 and if you can't do it yourself, take it to an indy. The dealership must still tune the bike AND meet US emission laws so that's part of the reason he told you that - dealer stage 1 is barely better than stock. Indy does not have to meet emissions so he'll tune it for maximum performance.
