Question Baffles preference

I just thought I would ask "the crew". I am replacing the baffles in my 2002 fat boy SE II's, as I want a more muffled (read neighbour friendly) tone, without compromising the scoot much. I have been looking into the Big City Thunder, and Smartpartz Hard Core replacements. Does anyone have any experience that they would like to share on either (or both) of these? Many Thanks, in advance to all who respond.....I appreciate it and really enjoy this forum.......Thanks again.......John

Post Baffles

I bought big city thunder baffles for my screamin eagle twos, but before
that I did not have any baffles. that's my 2 cents worth.

The stock baffles in the S/E pipes are already pretty quiet. I don't know if you will find anything that makes it quieter besides stock.

I replaced the stock SE baffles out of my slip-ons with Big City Thunder Baffles. They sound great and provided an increase in performance. I am very satisfied with them. Prior to purchasing I called them up and they spent 45 minutes on the phone answering my questions and generally BSing about bikes in general.

I got Big City Thunders in my sled. Couldn't be happier with them. the bike has a low rumble and doesn't have that loud pitch scream when you get on her.

i would go with Big City

I have big city thunder baffles in v&h br2x2 and love em. nice deep sound and once you crack the throttle :-))))) however I'm not so sure they would be considered “ neighbor friendly" unless your neighbors are tone deaf or your coasting in and out of the hood jm.02
be safe

I had the Big City baffles in my pipes for a while, but everytime I left the hood, I would set off car alarms!!!!! Loved them, but leaving at 6 in the morning for work, just didnt make them very neighborly! I now have a Thunderheader, and it seems to be a bit quieter.

BTW. I still have the baffles and the set of old pipes.

I installed the BCT baffles in my 06' SEII slipons. The exhaust note was definitely deeper then the stock baffles. The BCT baffles were also louder. So my expectations seemed to be met. That was until I took off for a ride. Contrary to almost everyone else, I immediately felt a reduction in “seat of the pants" torque. I ran these baffles for one summer, but really missed the torque. So the following winter I coughed up the doe for a set of Rinehart flush cuts and got my torque back and maintained the deep rumble.
