Pics of wrapped pipes
I wrapped my pipes yesterday after waiting for everything to arrive to complete the job. thanks to Mud for his advice and to kk6pg for his help with the project. I also added cross bones floorboards and one crossbones floorboard bracket. We'll get into that in a minute. I let the pipes dry overnight (they were still damp)and sprayed them with DEI black silicone spray as recommended by the Dyna guys. Let it dry for a bit and installed them. They look pretty good. I started it up and let it run for a bit. Took a spin and stopped at a stop light and lo and behold as I had read the pipes were smokin'. Wow I couldn't picture this until it happened. The pipes do have a deeper rumble now. I also installed torque cones (Thanks Tom)as my pipes are drags with little baffles. I feel there is a little more low end too. I did not get any pics today (I know) as it was dark when I got home, but will get some tomorrow for you picture junkies. I picked up a set of cross bones floorboards complete with brackets and pedals shifter from a forum member. The goal was to put black brackets back on to match my new black floorboards. The right side went smoothly with the exception for the pin that holds the brake pedal to the master cylinder. Had to sand that pin a bit to get the cotter pin back through. The left side was another story as I have a foot clutch. The Cross bones floorboard bracket on the right not only has a shorter kickstand than my bike, but the bracket is a little different. My foot clutch setup would not work with the new bracket so I put the old one back on. So now I have one chrome bracket, and one black. Kinda funny. The half moon boards seem to sit out further than the stock boards. I have even more room for my feet. I had floorboard extensions already, but now I can really stretch out. Thanks to Bryant for the floorboard setup. thanks again to the Dyna guys (kk6pg, Mud) and pics tomorrow morning. Half moon board Look at all the space for my feet and legs.
