Starting bike w/clutch in
I usually start the bike w/trans in neutral. Had the 1000 mile services on my bike late last Fall. I noticed the clutch was adjusted such that I barely need to pull it in to shift (vs. about mid-way straight from the factory). Afterwards, the few times I started the bike with the clutch pulled all the way in and the bike in first gear, there was a fairly good forward jerk of the whole bike.
I'll take the bike back to the dealer when the weather breaks and have it checked out, but has anyone else had this issue?

Over adjusted your clutch
Sounds like they over adjusted your clutch.
My bike will not roll if the clutch is pulled in and in first gear while cold.
I have to put it in neutral to move the bike in the garage if it's cold.
This clears up once it's warm, but a pain sometimes.
I asked the dealers, they said " during the service, they adjusted the clutch and must have gotten it 'over adjusted' "
I was going to have them fix it next time I get it services.
But to answer your question, it doesn't jump forward when starting.

As stated above, clutch cable just needs to be re-adjusted. You need to let them know where you wish for your clutch to engage. No big deal really.
I always start my bike with the clutch pulled in.....the first time you go to start your bike in gear, with out the clutch engaged, with a ton of friends standing around, and bike jumps forwardand hits the bike in front of you....no more to say, and don't ask how I know

mine too. tiny bit of pull when starting in 1st with clutch lever pulled. No dragging at lights or anything, and no huge clunk when dropping into first. Seems right to me. I do have my clutch cable a TAD tight...just like it that way. My left arm atrophied from a break ten years ago so I can use the extra effort.
if it pulls in neutral or drags at a light while in gear I'd definitely get in there.
