Just for grins, take a look at a Heritage too. The ride is identical to the Deluxe, but I bought my Heritage in 2009, the Heritage was a better value. Sure it cost a bit more, but the added extras were weil worth the money and actually cheaper than adding the extras from aftermarket cendors.

I'm 6' and 210 lbs. The Hertiage fit almost perfectly. Just added the Kuryakyn Cruise Arm Mark IV to stretch my legs out bit more.

Billybobber - what specifically don't you like about the dyna?

 

biggest thing is the need to replace the inner primary bearing every 10K miles. The factory has a fix but it involves replacing the tranny case and inner primary case to doweled units wich cures the alignment issue that causes the IPB to fail. HD won't just jump up and honor this either until it has failed at least twice and you have it documented; no safety recall either. All of this really cools me off to my 06 dyna. Sure, I could press for the full monty fix but I reallt don't trust the monkeys at our dealership based on past expeience on less technical jobs. the bigger motor would be a plus too and the FB lo comes from the factory almost perfectly with little or no add-ons for my tastes (except for the stage 1 and sissiy bar for momma)
yes, a new monthly payment would suck but I'm easily able to do that.

 

Don't jump just for looks and I know the Fatboy lo is tempting but get in at least a few mile test ride before buying it if you haven't already. Hell, ride them all and make sure you get the right fit. The second you ride off the lot you might loose a few grand these days.

 

The only consistent negative I've heard about the Lo is the bars being too far forward. Other than that the (three) people I've talked to that have them said they were very happy with it.

I like the low feel of the bike but I'm partial to scraping foot boards anyway. This thing has great potential.

 

I had a WG and now have the Lo. Everyone changes their minds in life but at this point I'm Softails for life. Good luck with your decision.

2009 fat boy, upgraded from a sporty obviously no regrets there, i have never had a problem banging corners on my fatty personally. i have never ridden a dyna to compare it too but i plan on keeping my fat boy for life.
